Gold Mounted Antique Victorian Cameo Brooch

Description This classical scene shows a winged maiden with two cherubs, possibly on a cloud, which could represent a piece of Antique Victorian mourning jewellery, due to the unusual mount which incorporates black onyx, which is a common symbol of Victorian mourning jewellery. It is 45mm long and 37mm wide. There is a very slight ‘nick’ on the back of the onyx, otherwise fabulous condition.
